Schwarzbeck BBA 9106 biconical elements + VHBB 9124 Antenna Holder / Balun

The Antenna Holder / Balun with cascadedmatching baluns is primarily designed for the usewith biconical elements such as BBA 9106 orBBAL 9136. It may also be used with rodelements as a dipole with improved bandwidth.The VHBB 9124 Balun provides an extraordinarydegree of symmetry (common mode rejection),especially at the low frequency end (20 to 40MHz), where otherwise lack of symmetry withcable braid current may cause severe error.Biconical antennas are generally mismatched atlow frequencies and show negative gain. Theworldwide popular dipole VHA 9103 with BBA9106 bicones provides at 30 MHz an antennafactor of 19 dB/m. The same biconical elementsin this 200:50 Ω VHBB-Balun is 5 dB better ingain and shows a “more sensitive” antennafactor of 14 dB/m.
